Take 41 and Final Take - Good Bye California - Hello Switzerland

It's been months, ages in blog talk really,  since I've posted on this blog. Lots of things have happened and I will attempt to explain.

Two years ago we spent a month in Italy and, unknowingly, spoiled our lives forever.  :-) When we returned, all we could talk and think about was Italy and how we could return. However, with three pets, a house, a life in California, how were we going to manage that? Leaving our pets, although very  well cared for by a trusted friend, was difficult. Travel was costly, long and tiring. How would we make that happen? UNLESS, of course ...... and the idea started taking shape in our heads. Moving to Europe? My husband, David, a software engineer, started looking at work possibilities in Europe, job postings at his office website and a list of possible European cities emerged. Some discussions ensued as to best places to live, best choice for work opportunities, best walkable city, best place for our two Goldens, etc. It turned out Zürich, Switzerland was the chosen city.  Centrally located, stable and peaceful, Switzerland became our country of choice. After that, one thing led to another, in a very quick fashion. During a very hot Real Estate market, we sold our house in three days, sold/gave away our cars and got rid of tons of stuff. At the end of March, when all things were squared away, we finally left on our Swiss adventure. Switzerland you might say, but that's not Italy? No, but as David likes to say: we moved to Switzerland to get closer to Italy! Pretty smart statement, I say. :-)

We lived in California for over 5 years and loved every minute of it. We are going to miss California for sure but we will also embrace our adventure in our new country and learn tons about European living and its many cultures.

Thank you for reading my posts and you might like to keep following me as I embark on another blog at:
